18th Caspian Oil & Gas Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals kicks off in Baku
Baku, June 8 (AzerTAc). 18th Caspian Oil & Gas Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals has today kicked off in Azerbaijan`s capital bringing together 500 representatives from different countries.
The first session was dedicated to ensuring energy security and market integration. It heard a report by senior advisor of ITE Group Company Andrew Wood.
Speaking to the session titled “Caspian region, changes in world energy market “, President of Azerbaijan`s state oil firm, SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev highlighted Azerbaijan`s oil strategy and achievements in energy sector. He noted Azerbaijan enjoyed a growing role in European energy security, adding the country become a reliable energy partner on the global scale.
Other speakers included European Union commissioner for energy Gunter Oettinger, Special Envoy of the US Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar and Director of Energy Markets and Security Office in International Energy Agency (IEA) Didier Houssin.
