Azerbaijan, Sweden conduct political consultations
Baku, June 8 (AzerTAc). Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov held political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of Sweden, Director-General for Political Affairs Bjorn Lyrvall and Chief of Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Ake Peterson at the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
Discussions were mostly concerned with expansion of economic, political, cultural and humanitarian relations, Azerbaijan`s cooperation with the European Union, Council of Europe and OSCE, resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict etc. The need to develop legal framework for cooperation between the two countries was underscored at the meeting.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Sweden Rafael Ibrahimov was present at the meeting.
Khalaf Khalafov was scheduled to meet with Speaker of Swedish Parliament Per Westerberg
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt is expected to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on June 12-13.
