FM: Iran-China ties strategic with bright outlook

Astana, June 15, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, by referring to meeting between Iran and China presidents, called the meeting very constructive and said that Tehran-Beijing ties are strategic with a bright outlook.

On the sidelines of president Ahmadinejad's meeting with Iranian residing in Kazakhstan, Salehi on Tuesday evening told reporters that in the meeting of presidents of Iran and China, development in north Africa and west Asia were discussed.

He added that viewpoints of both presidents were close to each other in many international issues and continued that it was decided that representatives from both countries have continuous consultations on the issues.

Salehi said that this year is the 40th anniversary of establishment of Iran-China ties and a number of ceremonies will be held in this regard.

He stressed that in the meeting between the two presidents, economic and trade ties were considered and the two sides underlined acceleration of implementation of Chinese projects in Iran.

Concerning meeting between Iran and Kazakhstan presidents, Salehi said that they discussed bilateral ties and considered developments in the region.

He added that, in the meeting, issues concerning Islamic world were discussed too and that Kazakhstan will take chairmanship of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in near future./end
