KADIN ASKS BP MIGAS TO URGE CONTRACTORS TO FULFIL THEIR OIL LIFTINGS

Jakarta, Sept 10 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and industry (Kadin) is urging the government and the Upstream Oil and Gas Supervisory Agency (BP Migas) to intensify cooperation contractors in the country to reach the 950,000-barrels-per-day mark in their oil lifting operations as called for in the 2009 State Budget, a spokesman said.
"The government and BP Migas cannot just keep still and accept the contractor's failure in lifting 950,000 bpd. Moreover, that oil lifting could reach one million barrels per day," Head of Kadin's Fiscal and Monetary Standing Committee Bambang Soesatyo, said here Wednesday.
He said there is an extra 50,000 bpd lifting from Cevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI). "Considering the amount is a government's share, BP Migas needs to explain their status problem , because the government's share has been swapped by CPI to Conoco Phillips's gas," he said.
Appart from that, Bambang expressed concern that miscalculation of crude oil production (lifting) ready for sales will cause serious consequences to the national budget.
