PRESIDENT CONTINUES RAMADAN SAFARI IN E JAVA
Madiun, Sept 11 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday morning continued his Ramadan safari by traveling on a special train from Madiun to Piyak hamlet in Sembung village, Perak disrtict.
The president was accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS, acting Coordinating Minister for Economy Sri Mulyani Idrawati, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, Communication and Information Minister Muhammad Nuh, Transportation Minister Jusman Syafei Djamal, and State Minister of State Enterprises Sofyan Djalil.
On the way to Sembung station, President Yudhoyono and his entourage would make a stopover at Nganjuk station to greet people around the station.
After arriving in Sembung station, the head of state would head to Plumbon Gambang village hall in Gudo sub district, Jombang district, for a dialog with local craftsmen and farmers.
At 11:30 a.m. local time, Yudhoyono and his entourage would return to Sembung station and leave for Gubeng station in Surabaya and then proceed to petrochemical industry PT Petrokimia in Gresik district.
At 2 in the afternoon President Yudhoyono would be briefed on matters relating to petrochemical industry by PT Petrokimia President Director Arifin Tasrif.
In the afternoon, the head of state was scheduled to attend fast-breaking get-together with local people at PT Petrokimia auditorium.
After the fast-breaking function and sunset prayers, the President would take part in a "Shalat Tarawih" (non-obligatory evening prayer service during the Muslim fasting month) at Sunan Giri mosque in Gresik.
Finally after the Shalat Tarawih, the president and his entourage would retire to the Shangri-La Hotel in Surabaya to spend the night before returning to Jakarta the next morning (Friday).
Besides his journey to East Java, the head of state is also scheduled to make a series of safari visits to a number of towns in West Java and Central Java and Makassar, South Sulawesi, later.
