FM: Iran prioritizes developing ties with neighboring states

Tehran, June 22, IRNA – New United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Tehran Saif Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi conferred on Tuesday with Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and submitted a copy of his credentials to him.

According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the meeting, Salehi welcomed the new UAE ambassador and wished him success during his mission in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran gives priority to expanding political relations with its neighbors, Salehi said adding that Tehran spares no efforts to attain this goal.

Obaid AlZaabi, for his part, conveyed the warm greetings of his country's foreign minister to Salehi and hoped to help broaden relations between both countries.

Referring to Iran's crucial role in regional developments, he said the UAE is determined to develop ties with Iran and does not pay heed to hostile allegations raised against Iran by certain alien states./end
