RP1.765 BILLION TO OVERCOME FOOD SHORTAGES IN NTT

Kupang, Sept 11 (ANTARA) - The government allocated Rp1.765 billion for coping food shortages in 20 regencies/cities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The fund was drawn from the NTT regional budget amounting to Rp1 billion, Rp540 million from the regional budget, and Rp223 million in assistance, chief of NTT's food security mass guidance agency, Petrus Langoday said here Thursday.

According to the food and nutrition awareness system (SKPG) of the food security mass guidance agency, 11 regencies in NTT comprising 360 villages, are facing food problems experiences food troubles.

All the regencies are in North-Central Timor, Belu, Alor, Lembata, Flores Timur, Ngada, West Manggarai, East Sumba, Rote Ndao, Nagekeo and Southwestern Sumba.
