Sudanese president in Tehran to attend terrorism confab

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived late Friday in Tehran to attend the two-day International Conference on Fighting Terrorism hosted by Iran.

President al-Bashir was welcomed in the VIP pavilion at Tehran International Mehrabad Airport by Cooperatives Minister Mohammad Abbasi.

Sudanese ministers of economy, agriculture, interior and foreign affairs are accompanying al-Bashir during his visit to Tehran.

The two-day International Conference on Fighting Terrorism opens on Saturday in Tehran and will last for two days.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived in Tehran earlier on Friday to attend the international conference./end
