Iran-Pakistan-Afghanistan presidents attend Trilateral meeting

Tehran, June 25, IRNA -- A trilateral meeting was held among the Iranian, Pakistani and Afghan presidents in Tehran on Friday, a day before the International Conference on Global Fight Against Terrorism.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Afghan counterpart, Hamid Karzai, and his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari discussed key regional and international issues, as well as ways for expanding bilateral, trilateral and regional cooperation.
The three heads of state also discussed ways for fighting terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
President Ahmadinejad and his Pakistani counterpart, Asif Ali Zardari discussed issues of mutual interest in a bilateral meeting right before the trilateral meeting was held.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend the International Conference on Global Fight Against Terrorism./end
