"Close cooperation among regional states, helpful" : Presidents

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – Presidents of three neighboring countries of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan emphasized close cooperation among regional countries in order to bring peace and security to the Middle East.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, and visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai pledged to expand their cooperation in political, security, economic and cultural areas, as well as fighting terrorism and foreign interventions.
The three presidents also said that foreign countries should not intervene in the internal affairs of the Middle East countries.
The two-day International Conference on Fighting Terrorism opens on Saturday in Tehran and it will last for two days.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend an international conference on global fight against terrorism held in Tehran./end
