Ahmadinejad: Dialog, best way to resolve regional conflicts

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that holding dialog is the only way and the most effective one to resolve conflicts in some regional states and in North Africa as well.

In his Friday meeting with visiting Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi, the President said the two countries enjoy common stance on the regional developments.

'The western governments are not true and faithful friends for regional countries,' said President Ahmadinejad.

Iran's President also said all nations should be cautious about the hegemonic aims by the western states.

Oman's Alawi for his part said his country like Iran believes that regional problems should be solved by holding constructive negotiations.

He further said Oman is trying to promote all-out cooperation with the Islamic Republic.

The Omani foreign minister is in Tehran to attend the International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism to be held today (June 25). /end
