President: Damage inflicted by terrorism not easily repairable

Tehran, June 25, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that the damage inflicted by terrorism could not easily be repairable.
He made the remarks in his address to the opening session of the International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism.
The two day conference started its work here earlier Saturday with the participation of heads of states and representatives from more than 60 countries with a message by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Aki Khamenei.
The message of the Supreme Leader to the two-day event was read by his advisor for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati.
Addressing the conference, President Ahmadinejad said that international security was highly under threat by terrorism and that a global determination was needed to fight the vicious phenomenon.
The President said that poverty, discrimination and humiliation were the root causes of terrorism which was used by evil doers to reach their inhuman goals.
Referring to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the President said Washington invaded and occupied two countries (Iraq and Afghanistan) under the pretext of the incident.
He stressed that the US move had no result but bringing poverty and backwardness to the region and leaving many killed, injured and displaced.
President Ahmadinejad said that opening of the black boxes of the 9/11 and Holocaust incidents would help reveal facts about the two major events which have paved the ground for big powers' colonialism and terrorism.
Referring to Iran as a major victim of terrorism, President Ahmadinejad voiced Tehran’s readiness to help other independent states and freedom-seeking nations fight against the evil phenomenon of terrorism./end
