Unheard Asha mujra released on Madan Mohan's birthday

New Delhi, June 25 (PTI) An unheard mujra, sung by
Asha Bhosle and set to tune by Madan Mohan, was released on
the occasion of the composer's 87th birth anniversary
Saturday.
'Hum hosh lutakar mehfil mein', sung by Asha in her
inimitable style, was recorded in the early 70s for a film
that was never released.
The song can be heard on the musician's website, which
is maintained by his family.
The legendary composer, who passed away in 1975 at the
age of 51, left behind various tunes which remained
unutilised. Some of these were used as the music score of
"Veer Zaara" and won wide appreciation and many awards.
Many songs recorded in his lifetime remained unheard
as the films were incomplete or not released.
Fifteen such songs were released in an album "Tere
Bagair' in 2009, to mark his 85th birth anniversary.
Asha sang several of Madan Mohan's songs -- memorable
solos like 'Jhumka gira re', 'Saba se yeh kahdo', 'Ashqon se
teri humne', 'Koi shikwa bhi nahin' and 'Nazar ki bijliyaan'
and duets like 'Zameen se humen aasman par', 'Aapko pyar
chhupane ki', 'Tere paas aaake mera waqt' and 'Jab jab tumhen
bhulaaya'.
Last year too, an unheard song by Asha 'Aaj ki shaam
pehloo mein tu' was released. PTI ZMN
