Envoy Warns about Imminent Threats of Terrorism

TEHRAN (FNA)- Mali's ambassador to Tehran warned of the imminent threats posed by the devilish phenomenon of terrorism to the entire world nations.
Speaking on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Global Fight against Terrorism in Tehran, the Malian ambassador said the whole world feels concerned about terrorism and that's why many countries have given a positive response to Tehran's invitation and attended the conference.

He further dismissed western claims about a link between Muslims and terrorism, and stressed that such allegations are wrong.

"Islam is a religion of peace, forgiveness, and brotherhood," he added.

The International Conference on Global Fight against Terrorism officially started work here in Tehran on Saturday with scores of high-ranking officials and international figures in attendance.

The event has brought together senior officials from at least 60 countries, and representatives from several international organizations, including the UN.

The gathering is aimed at increasing international convergence and coordination in fighting terrorism.
