Majlis Speaker: Lebanese Islamic resistance, role model for other nations

Tehran, June 27, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here on Sunday that the Lebanese Islamic resistance is a source of pride for the Islamic Ummah.

In a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, he added that resistance of the Lebanese people against the arrogant powers and the Zionist regime can serve as a model for other combatant nations.

Referring to the recent developments in the region, he noted that the status of the Islamic resistance is improving.

Regional revolutions have created hard conditions for the Zionist regime, he contended.

Expressing pleasure with the establishment of the new government in Lebanon despite obstacles created by the arrogant powers, he said that it was a great success for the Lebanese political groups and helped the country leave behind a sensitive stage.

Voicing the Iranian nation’s readiness to extend all-out support for the country, he called for the optimum use of the opportunities for strengthening bilateral parliamentary and economic cooperation.

Mansour, for his part, described Iran-Lebanon ties as historical and deep-rooted and said that a new chapter has opened in the two countries’ cooperation.

Terming Iran’s stances on regional developments as honorable, he also said that the new Lebanese government will take concerted efforts to implement all the agreements signed by the two states./end
