MINISTRY AIMS TO HAVE 1,000 WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ANNUALLY

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry aims to produce 1,000 women entrepreneurs in agriculture and the service industry annually.

Women's Development Department director-general Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd
Nur said among the efforts being encouraged was to market home-grown herbs such
as lemon-grass and tumeric.

"Venturing into agricultural activity even on a small scale can definitely
help to increase the family income," she told reporters after launching Sweet
Forever's personal hygiene product at the Giant Hypermarket here today.

Dr Noorul said other efforts currently being implemented was the
plantating of jasmine flowers for the herbal tea industry, in Raub, Pahang.
