FLOOD DESTROYS TWO HOUSES IN PALU
Palu, Indonesia, Sept. 12 (ANTARA) - A flood destroyed two houses at North Tatura area, South Palu sub district, Central Sulawesi Province, late Thursday.
The two collapsed houses were located on the bank of Kawatuna River.
Salim (48), owner of one of the destroyed houses, said that he and his family could only watch his house being swept away by the flood waters.
Tens of houses in East Palu were inundated as the local river overflowed following incessant downpours the day before.
Continuous heavy rains over the past two days also triggered landslides in several regions in Central Sulawesi Province and disrupted land transportation.
