TWO NIGERIAN DRUG SUSPECTS DETAINED FOR IMMIGRATION OFFENSES
Jakarta, Sept 12 (ANTARA) - Officers of the Jakarta police's anti-drug unit on Friday arrested two Nigerian nationals they had suspected of possessing drugs but did not find any proof on them, a spokesman said.
The two Nigerians , however, were detained because they proved to have violated immigration rules for which they would be handed to the immigration office, director of the Jakarta Police's drug division, Senior Commissioner Arman Depari, said.
"We did not find any drugs on them but their immigration papers were not in order. So we will hand them to the immigration office for a further legal process," he said.
Identified as Collins C Ozomens (29) and Caesar Nanna Martin (32), the two Nigerians lived in a flat in Kemayoran and claimed to be merchants.
When arrested, Ozomens proved to be carrying a passport that had expired and Martin to have no passport at all.
