Iran's Interior Min arrives Turkmenistan

Ashkhabad, July 5, IRNA – Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar, heading a top delegation, arrived in Ashkhabad Airport, capital of Turkmenistan, early Tuesday morning.
Mohammad-Najjar was welcomed at the airport by his Turkmen counterpart, Alexander Mulikov. Mohammad-Najjar is in Ashkhabad upon an invitation by his Turkmen counterpart.
Mohammad-Najjar is scheduled to meet and hold talks with Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguli Berdimukhamadov, tuesday morning, and other high-ranking Turkmen officials during his 2-day visit.
Among other officials who are accompanying Mohammad-Najjar are the governors of Golestan Province and North Khorassan Province as well as several Parliament representatives.
Mohammad-Najjar said on Monday that the prospect of mutual Tehran-Ashkahbad cooperation is very promising. He made the remarks prior to his departure for Ashkhabad on Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Mohammad-Najjar said that officials of both sides are determined to mutually broaden their relations.
Ties between both states are friendly and deep-rooted which have cultural, religious and historical commonalities, he said.
Iran is determined to bolster ties with its neighbors mainly the Muslim states, Mohammad-Najjar said adding that Tehran attaches great importance to Turkmenistan.
The volume of trade exchange between both countries has exceeded dlrs 4b, registering a significant growth, and is expected the figure will rise dramatically, he said.
Iran wil render all out assistance in implementing various development projects in that country, Mohammad-Najjar concluded./end
