Pak religious scholars, leaders condemn Lesbians-Gays ‘Pride Celebrations’ in US Embassy

Islamabad, July 5, IRNA – Religious scholars and leaders of various religious political parties have strongly condemned holding of lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) ‘Pride Celebrations’ at the US Embassy.
Jamaat-I-Islami Ameer Munawar Hassan condemning the event said the US Embassy, by holding such a controversial gathering, has violated the rules and laws of land, so the government should act accordingly.
Religious scholar Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has urged the government to look into the matter and make the US Embassy administration to explain the purpose behind this move.
Political parties condemned the event in the strongest terms, urging the government to ensure that such nonsensical and immoral things are not repeated anywhere in the country./end
