Iran-India cooperate in confronting piracy

Tehran, July 6, IRNA – Among other agreements, Iran and India have agreed to confront piracy in a meeting held between Tehran's deputy foreign minister and New Delhi's deputy foreign secretary, here on Tuesday.

According to the report of the Foreign Ministry Media Department, visiting Indian Deputy Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao, met with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister in Asia and Pacific Affairs, Mohammad-Ali Fatollahi.

In the meeting, both sides discussed regional issues, in particular, Afghanistan and development in the Middle East and Arab countries, as well as issues on bilateral cooperation.

Settlement of consulate problems as well as trilateral cooperation on Afghanistan were among other issues discussed by both parties.

Both sides also underlined holding the 17th meeting of the joint commission of Iran and India./end
