Salehi underlines necessity of expansion of all-out Iran-India ties

Tehran, July 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister, Ali-Akbar Salehi in a meeting with visiting Indian Deputy Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao, underlined necessity of expansion of all-out ties between Iran and India.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Tuesday, Salehi, referring to the role and stance of India as an important and affective country in the region and the world, said that the two countries have very good relations with plenty of commonalties in history and culture.

In the field of economy and trade, the FM said that current level of trade between Iran and India is not proportionate with existing capacities.

He expressed hope that in a near future cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, industry, new technology and science would witness development and growth.

The Indian senior diplomat, for her part, conveyed greetings of Indian foreign minister to his counterpart and called the two countries as important one with good relations and many commonalties.

She also underlined development of bilateral ties in different fields and expressed hope that cooperation in all fields would witness further growth./end
