1st VP to attend Iran-Iraq high commission for cooperation

Tehran, July 6, IRNA – 1st Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi left Tehran for Baghdad, Iraq, Wednesday to attend the 3rd session of Iran-Iraq high commission for economic cooperation.

During his stay, Rahimi and his high-ranking eco-political delegation are to sign several agreements with the Iraqi side.

The objective of the trip is to hold talks on issues of mutual interest and review the latest regional and international developments.

Iran's private sector is planned to play more active role in various economic fields in Iraq.

Transferring Iran's gas to Europe via Iraq and Syria will be among major issues to be discussed in the meeting.

It is predicted that trade exchanges between the two neighboring states would increase to 6 billion dollars during the current year./end
