Indian captain M S Dhoni turns 30
Roseau (Dominica), July 7 (PTI) India's World Cup winning
captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned 30 Thursday with family,
team-mates and supporters greeting him on the occassion.
Dhoni celebrated his birthday with wife Sakshi, friends
from India and team-mates at the Indian team's plush sea-side
resort here.
The Captain cool had a brief celebration as the team left
early for the ground for the second day's play of the third
and final Test in Windsor Park.
It has been learnt that Dhoni would have a more elaborate
celebration at the team hotel after the second day's play.
Back in India, his fans celebrated the day distributing
sweets and cutting cake. His India teammate Gautam Gambhir
also wished him on his birthday.
"Happy Birthday to Dhoni! I hope he continues to lead the
way he has been doing so far," Gambhir, who is recuperating
from shoulder injury, said in New Delhi.
Dhoni, who is playing his 57th Test match, is now 52 runs
short of completing 3000 runs in the longer version of the
game while he has scored 6049 runs in 186 ODIs.
India has taken an unbeateable 1-0 lead in the
three-match Test series.
