Iran FM holds private talks with IAEA chief in Vienna

Vienna, July 13, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi held talks with Director General of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano in Vienna Tuesday.

The talks were held behind closed doors and reporters are waiting for the outcome of this meeting.

Iran’s foreign minister heading a political delegation arrived in Vienna late Monday.

The delegation members include Iran’ Paramagnet Ambassador to the IAEA Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast and a parliamentarian Hossein Sobhaninia.

Salehi is visiting Austria at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart.

Upon arrival, Salehi said Amano’s visit to Iran should be made without any conditions, otherwise, his travel would be “meaningless.”

Iran fulfils all its commitments towards the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said Salehi, underlining that the Islamic Republic would by no means relinquish its rights./end
