Death toll in Mumbai terror blasts rises to 18

Mumbai, July 15 (PTI) A man, who sustained severe
injuries during one of the three blasts in the city, Friday
succumbed to injuries, taking the death toll in the bombings
in the western Indian city to 18.
Avinash Tamka (23), who was admitted in the ICU of
Bombay Hospital after the blast at Zaveri Bazaar in south
Mumbai, died Friday, said doctors.
A day after the blasts, Indian Home Minister P
Chidambaram had said, "Seventeen deaths are confirmed. We also
found one severed head that has to be identified. That will
take the death toll to 18."
However, city police Thursday maintained that only 17
people were killed, including a man whose severed head was
only found.
