Commander: Era of Foreign Powers' Militarism in Persian Gulf Over

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Republic Army Brigadier General Abdulrahim Moussavi reiterated that the era of foreign forces' militarism in the Persian Gulf has ended and the aliens should leave the region.
Moussavi underlined that the era of the US military build-up in the Persian Gulf is over and foreigners have no option but leaving the region

Moussavi said foreign troops' pullout from Persian Gulf depends on nations' vigilance.

He told the Islamic republic news agency that the presence of foreigners in waters and territories of a number of regional states is not something pleasant. "Big powers have come to know that they can not change regional equations through such military build-ups."

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi had underlined that Tehran attaches much importance to the security and stability of the Persian Gulf, and called for countries' enhanced collective cooperation to safeguard regional security.

"The security and stability of the Persian Gulf is very important for regional countries and for the world," Salehi said in May.

''This feat will not be accomplished except through the collective cooperation of regional countries to resolve crises and meet the legitimate demands of the people," the Iranian foreign minister added.
