BOMB EXPLOSION IN TIMIMIKA
Jakarta, Sept 15 (ANTARA) - A small bomb planted at an electricity depot near Timika airport in the eastern Indonesian province of Papua exploded at 11:15 on Sunday night but there were no immediate reports of casualties.
"The explosion slightly razed the electricity depot but fortunately nobody was hurt in the incident," National Police spokesman Inspector General Abubakar Nataprawira said here on Monday.
He said police bomb defusing , forensic and anti terror teams had been sent to the site of the blast for further investigations.
On Thursday, Septebmer 11, 2008, there was also an explosion from an old bomb near the mining firm PT Freeport Indonesia in Timika but no casualties were reported.
The bomb was located under a bridge and its explosion slightly damaged the bridge but did not disrupt traffic to the copper and gold mining company.
