Two Pak ultras liquidated

Srinagar, Jul 23 (PTI) Two Pakistani militants were
killed in a fierce gunbattle with security forces in north
Indian state Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district Saturday.
The slain ultras belonged to Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT),
officials said adding their bodies had been recovered.
The gunfight erupted when police and troops of 21
Rashtriya Rifles launched a search-and-cordon operation in
Bagh-e-Hakhar area in Handwara, 90-km from here.
The two militants, who were killed in the exchange of
fire, were buried at a local graveyard, the officials said.
The slain ultras were both Pakistanis and belonged
to LeT, they said adding two AK rifles were recovered from the
scene.
Security forces were searching for the third militant
who, the officials said, might have escaped as the house where
the ultras were hiding caught fire.
This is second major success for security forces in
north Kashmir within week.
Five Lashkar militants, all self-styled commanders,
were killed in a gunbattle at Lolab on July 15. PTI MIJ
