Industry minister receives Malaysian diplomat

SANA'A, Sep. 15 (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya
al-Mutawakil discussed on Monday with the ambassador of Malaysia
Abdul-Samad Othman the current preparations to hold meetings of the
Yemeni-Malaysian Joint Commercial Committee by the end of 2008.

They discussed exerted efforts to hold Yemeni Industry Conference
which will be hosted by Hadramout in December 2008 under the slogan
(Made in Yemen) as well as the Malaysian participation in the
conference.

The meeting dealt with commercial and industrial ties between Yemen
and Malaysia and means of reinforcing and developing them as well as
making use of the advanced expertise of Malaysia in these fields.

The minister affirmed the importance of the Yemeni Industry
Conference in reinforcing aspects of partnership between the
government and the private sector in confronting challenges and
treating all issues that could impede industry development.

He noted the importance of benefiting from the Malaysian commercial
and industrial fields within the framework of current partnership in
these fields, pointing out to the Yemeni-Malaysian ties which he
described as distinguished and developing.
