Multinational street

Shymkent, 16 September 2008, (Khabar) - Representatives of different
nationalities and religions amicably live and work in Pervomayevka
settlement of South Kazakhstani region.

Water pipeline is being laid in
Taubai-ata street now, people have been dreaming about it for a long time.
The residents help the workers as they want to have running water at homes
as quickly as possible. Representatives of 19 nationalities that live in
Pervomayevka, solve all the problems together.

Zoya Bogoslova:
- We share everything in two - bread and salt. It is normal for us. For
example, Gulya is a Kazakh woman, I am Ukrainian woman, we have Turkish,
Kurd and Chechen people. We live well.

Abdizhalil Moldabekov, head of council of aksakals:
- People live very amicably here. We solve all the problems together, as we
live as one family.

Women cooked supper, while men and youth dug trenches. Neighbors know the
traditions of every nation and respect them. Currently Muslims fast and
people will begin eating after sunset.

Saeed Akhmetov:
- We don't separate for Muslims and Christians. Russians have Christian fast
and we Muslim one. And we don't separate for Kazakhs and Chechens. We act
together during
different campaigns.

And notion "national cuisine" has become vague already.

Svetlana Soboleva:
- My husband likes beshbarmak with kazy and mutton. And they like borsch,
our pastry and okroshka.

These people grew in one street and now their children grow together being
the friends.
