Commander Blames Zionist Regime for Directing Terrorist Attacks in Norway
TEHRAN (FNA)- Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi took the Zionist regime responsible for directing and sponsoring the last-week terrorist attacks in Oslo, Norway, which killed scores of innocent people.
"The West should know that Zionists are behind the so-called religious extremisms and terrorist and racist actions," Firouzabadi said on Saturday, adding that the Zionist regime misuses the world people to materialize its wrong and racist beliefs.
He referred to the terrorist attacks in Norway, and said that any probe into the incentives and goals of these terrorist attacks without investigating their links with the Zionists will be fruitless.
"Since Zionists realized their failure and weakness, they have tried to expand and spread Christian Zionism which is a big danger for the Christian world, and the West as well as the Church should take it seriously," he added.
Norway was last week coming to terms with one of the worst atrocities in recent European history as police revealed that 91 people died in the last Friday attacks in the center of Oslo and on a nearby island summer camp.
The killings, it now seems clear, were carried out by a 32-year old Norwegian, named by local media as Anders Behring Breivik, who had expressed far-right views, and had dressed as a policeman to carry out his bomb attack on government buildings in central Oslo before heading to the island of Utoya, where he shot at least 84 people.
In several online postings, Anders Behring Breivik, the confessed perpetrator of the attack, promoted fiercely anti-Islamic and far-right Zionist views, calling for "the deportation of all Muslims from Europe" as well as from "the West Bank and the Gaza Strip".
Police spokesman Roger Andresen said of Behring Breivik, who was arrested by anti-terrorism officers at the scene of the shooting, "He is clear on the point that he wants to explain himself."
Andersen said the suspect also posted on websites with Christian fundamentalist tendencies. He did not describe the websites in any more details.
