Iran Unveils New Translation of Holy Quran

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian scholar Gholam Ali Haddad Adel presented a new translation of the Muslims' holy book, Quran, in Persian language in a ceremony in the 19th International Holy Quran Exhibition in Tehran.
The new translation was unveiled during the 19th International Holy Quran Exhibition held at the Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Grounds in Tehran on Thursday.

Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, renowned Iranian scholars Mehdi Mohaqeq and Bahauddin Khorramshahi alongside a number of cultural officials attended the unveiling ceremony.

Haddad Adel, who is the director of the Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature, spent nine years to translate the holy book of Muslims.

The Persian translation was proofread by more than 100 experts on the Quran before being published, Haddad Adel said during the ceremony.

He also said that he has tried to establish his translation based on Al-Mizan Interpretation (Tafsir al-Mizan), authored by late Allameh Muhammad Hossein Tabatabaie.
