HH Sheikha Moza Patronizes Inauguration Ceremony of Academic Health System
Doha, August 08 (QNA) - HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Vice Chairperson of the Supreme Council of Health, patronized today evening at Ritz Carlton Hotel the inauguration ceremony of the academic health system - an initiative by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
The ceremony was attended by a number of their excellencies sheikhs, ministers and members of the International Advisory Board overseeing the initiative along with a number of experts and local and international specialists in the health sector.
It is worth mentioning that the establishment of the academic health system is an opportunity to bring several academic institutions and health care systems in Qatar under one banner and one system, a matter that will help in accelerating medical discoveries and develop new therapeutic strategies to enhance the quality of health care and services provided to the community
The Academic Health System aims to generate significant positive impact upon patient care, medical education and medical research.
The strength of the proposal results from the intertwining of these central activities to improve health and well-being whilst expanding the boundaries of knowledge and ensuring a modern, flexible and sustainable workforce. The initiative represents a major milestone in HMC s development as Qatar s leading healthcare provider through the delivery of world-class health care, medical education and research excellence. A key element of the initiative will be wider community engagement through developing a deeper social conscience and bestowing tangible economic and health benefits on the community.
The Academic Health System Joint Steering Committee is jointly chaired by Dr Hanan Al Kuwari, Project Sponsor and Managing Director of HMC, and Dr Javaid Sheikh, Dean of WCMC-Q. (END)
