PM calls on President, discusses Parliament session
New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) Indian Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh Sunday called on President Pratibha Patil and discussed
matters relating to the ongoing Parliament session, which has
been marred by frequent disruptions over the issue of
corruption.
The meeting lasted for 30 minutes during which the two
leaders discussed the ongoing session of Parliament, a
Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace) spokesperson said.
The meeting assumes significance amid frequent
disruptions by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the issue
of corruption especially in connection with Commonwealth Games
projects and the proposed fast by Anna Hazare on Lokpal Bill.
They also discussed various other issues of national and
international importance, the spokesperson said.
