Susanta Ghosh's condition stable

Kolkata/Midnapore, Aug 15 (PTI) The condition of former
Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) minister Susanta
Ghosh, arrested by in connection with the recovery of
skeletons from near his residence in West Midnapore district
in eastern Indian state West Bengal, is stated to be stable
and may be released Tuesday.
According to SSKM hospital sources, the medical board
found his condition stable after examining him, but would
consider his release Tuesday only after the return of its
head from a visit outside the town.
On Saturday during interrogation, Ghosh had suddenly
complained of illness and was rushed to SSKM hospital where he
was kept under close observation under a medical board.
Meanwhile, CID sleuths Monday arrested Biman Ghosh,
another accused in the alleged dumping of skeletons, of Uttar
Biasala village in the Salboni police station area of West
Midnapore district.
Besides Ghosh, Gunadhar Rana, Gunadhar Shau and Debasis
Pyne, former confidential assistant of Susanata Ghosh, were
arrested in connection with the recovery of skeletons.
Susanta Ghosh was arrested by CID on August 9 after the
Chief Judicial Magistrate (Midnapore) rejected his
anticipatory bail application.
Seven skeletons were dug up from near Ghosh's ancestral
house at Benachapra in the Garbeta police station area in West
Midnapore district on June 2.
Earlier, FIRs had been filed against the former minister
as well as five others, including Biman Ghosh, on June four at
Anandpur police station after missing Trinamool Congress
worker Ajoy Acharya's son claimed that he had recognised his
father from the clothes found on one of the skeletons.
Acharya's son alleged that his father was among seven
Trinamool Congress workers who were abducted by CPI(M) cadre
after a meeting at Piyasala village in 2002. The seven have
been missing since then.
