Ambulance at Tihar before midnight triggers frenzy

New Delhi, August 17 (PTI) Supporters of Anna Hazare,
who has refused to come out of Tihar jail, broke into frenzy
late Wednesday night at the sight of an ambulance of a leading
private hospital approaching the jail premises.
The supporters rushed towards the sleek modern
ambulance which kept flashing red bullet lights and surrounded
it without allowing its driver to proceed further.
As suspense mounted as to when Hazare would finally
emerge out of the prison, questions were raised as to what the
ambulance was doing at a late hour.
It was immediately not known who had summoned the
ambulance.
The ambulance returned after remaining outside the jail
for about 20 minutes.
The health condition of Hazare was earlier described by
a prison official as absolutely fine.
"Anna Hazare's health is absolutely fine. There is no
problem at all. Regular medical check ups are being done," a
prison official said tonight.
