Pakistan, Sri Lanka talks on Free Trade Agreement


Colombo, August 18, 2011 (PPI): The two-day secretarial level talks between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on aspects of bilateral free trade agreement concluded Thursday in Colombo.

Sri Lanka Secretary to Ministry of Industry & Commerce Thilak Kollure said trade between two countries gathered pace during last few years. Pakistan is Sri Lanka’s 2nd largest trade partner in the South Asian region, at present.

Pakistan's Commerce Secretary Zafar Mahmood said that Sri Lanka was the first country that Pakistan entered a FTA with. He also said that his country is willing to enlarge the scope of the FTA.
