HCM City sees slight CPI increase in September

HCM City (VNA) - Ho Chi Minh City 's consumer price index (CPI)
increased just 0.11% during September, the lowest monthly increase since April 2008, according to the city's Statistics Department.

The city's CPI rose an accumulated 19.69% since the beginning of the year and 27.53% over the last twelve months.

Cultural, sports and entertainment services saw the highest price hike of 2.87%, followed by home appliances with 0.91%, garments with 0.62% whilst
medicine and healthcare services increased by 0.54%.

Meanwhile, the cost of housing, electricity and water, fuel, transport and
telecommunication services, food and foodstuffs all decreased slightly.
The municipal People's Committee has recently agreed to provide non-interest
loans of 409 billion VND (25 million USD) to enable nine businesses to buy
essential goods for the upcoming Lunar New Year. -Enditem
