Salehi returns home from Mogadishu

Tehran, Aug 24, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi returned home early Wednesday morning after a one-day visit to Somalia and meeting with its senior officials.
Upon his arrival, Salehi told reporters that Somalian president will visit Tehran in near future, adding that details of continuation of Iran's aid to Somalia would be discussed in that trip.
He praised efforts of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) in sending humanitarian aid to Somalia and added that 35 thousand people are now covered by IRCS.
During his one-day visit to Somalia, Salehi met and discussed issues of mutual interest with Somalian premier and interior minister; he also was briefed about ways of delivering aid to the famine stricken people of Somalia./end
