Rescue efforts yet to begin in many rain-hit areas
Badin, August 19, 2011 (PPI): Despite widespread looses in rain-hit localities of Badin, a helicopter-assisted search and rescue operation could not begin despite the government announcement.
According to the details, the government has been unable to reach out to the far-flung rural areas inundated in rainwater. The authorities have also failed to provide proper food and clean water to thousands of survivors living in makeshift relief camps. However, food items and ration is being distributed amongst the affectees by several philanthropist bodies.
The flood survivors in many areas including Badin, Tando Bago, Tando Ghulam Ali are routinely taking the streets against lack of relief and rehabilitation activities in their areas.
