Ambassador of Pakistan presented his credentials to the President of Tajikistan

The Ambassador of Pakistan, Mr. Amjad Hussain B. Sial, presented his credentials to the President of Tajikistan, Mr. Emomali Rahmon, at Dushanbe today, says a press release received from Deshanbe here today.

President Rahmon said that he was looking forward to meet President Asif Ali Zardari on 01 September 2011, on the sidelines of the Quadrilateral (Dushanbe 4) Summit, to be held in Dushanbe. He termed Pakistan-Tajikistan relations excellent and strengthening. He fondly recalled his visit to Pakistan early this year and his meetings with our leadership.

President Rahmon conveyed Tajikistan’s desire to have a road link between Pakistan and Tajikistan through Wakhan corridor to promote trade, tourism and people-to-people contacts between our two countries.

Ambassador Sial briefed Tajik journalists, present on the occasion, on the upcoming visit of our President to Tajikistan in September 2011 and stressed the importance of surface and air connectivity for the socio-economic development of the entire region. He underscored the need to have regional solutions for regional issues.
