Indian leader denounces Israel’s occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque

New Delhi, Aug 27, IRNA – Denouncing the illegal occupation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel, an Indian leader on Friday urged world Muslims to unite and support the suppressed Palestinians to liberate the highly sacred place from Israeli clutches.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Asif Mohd Khan, MLA of Delhi Assembly on the occasion of the World Quds Day, said: “Unity among Muslims and lending support to the people of Palestine are the only way to liberate Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque (First Qibla-direction of prayer) from the illegal occupation of Israel”.

He was of the view that Imam Khomeini (R.A.), leader of the Islamic Revolution by designating the last Friday of Ramadan as the World Quds Day, taught Muslims to demonstrate their unity and spare no efforts to fulfill their aspiration.

He (Imam), having mystic personality, tried to administrate justice and equality to defend the rights of the Muslims as well as other communities in the world, Indian lawmaker noted.

“The impact of Imam’s call for the support of Palestinian cause can now be seen in almost every corner of the globe. Peace-loving people along with Muslims, in huge numbers come out on streets to mark the World Quds Day and condemned Israel for its atrocities and illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque,” said Asif

Expressing solidarity with the suppressed people of Palestine, Indian leader strongly condemned Israel for its inhuman behaviour and atrocities committed against innocent Palestinians.

“With full support of the US, Israel has always ignored UN resolutions on Palestine and international circles pay no attention to the horrible conditions imposed upon innocent Palestinians,' regretted the lawmaker./end
