Iran Red Crescent to set up medical centres in Pakistan

Islamabad, Aug 27 ,IRNA-- The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) will set up medical centres in Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The centers will be established at the provincial level as part of its efforts to strengthen the bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries and the two national societies.

The PRCS Chairperson, Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar, told journalists here on her return from Iran, where she not only had detailed meetings with top officials of the IRCS, and also visited the projects being run by the society.

Nilofar said the IRCS is willing to start projects in Pakistan to minimise the suffering of the vulnerable, and that the PRCS will be extending maximum support in the establishment of medical centres and continuation of other activities.

The PRCS will also facilitate the IRCS in obtaining necessary permission and NOC from the government for the equipment being brought for relief operations.

'Both the societies will learn, share experiences and exchange technical knowledge in different fields,' she said./end
