Iran Sees Promising Future for Ties with Greece
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian foreign Ministry official underlined the good potential for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Athens, and voiced Iran's preparedness to expand media cooperation with Greece.
"Iran is ready to expand cooperation with Greece in the field of media and dissemination of news," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast told a press conference in Athens on Tuesday.
Mehman-Parast, who is in Athens at the invitation of his Greek counterpart Grigoris Delavekouras, further described the prospects for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation between Iran and Greece as very promising.
He further reiterated the deeply-rooted and friendly ties between Iran and Greece, and stressed that proper grounds are well prepared for bolstering all-out relations and cooperation between the two states.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman described his meetings with Greek officials as very fruitful and helpful in expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Mehman-Parast also met with his Greek counterpart Grigoris Delivecuras in Athens on Monday night.
At the meeting, the Iranian diplomat downplayed the effects of international and unilateral sanctions against Iran, and underscored that embargoes would lead to the further growth and progress of the country.
He further stressed Iran's role as a powerful country with an influential role in resolving regional problems and crises, and voiced Tehran's preparedness to further expand and develop relations with Greece.
During the meeting, Delivecuras underlined Iran's role as an influential country in the world, and called for continued consultations between the two countries.
