FIFA approves panel of referees & assistant referees for international matches
LAHORE, September 07, 2011 (PPI): FIFA annually approves panel of referees/assistant referees to supervise international matches being organized by AFC/FIFA. Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is conducting Referees Physical Fitness Test on Saturday 10th September, 2011 for the potential candidates, so as to qualify the laid down criteria of FIFA for the year 2012.
According to the press release issued here by PFF, it is a unique honour for any referees/assistant referees to be selected for FIFA panel. AFC Referee Committee and AFC Executive Committee has included Pakistan in category Five with Cambodia, Chinese Tapai, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Philippines and Sri Lanka for execution of physical test under AFC arrangements.
Twenty potential candidates who fulfil FIFA pre-requisites/physical standards have been selected to appear for the test. The successful referees/ assistant referees will be finally selected by AFC for the FIFA panel which would be great honour for any one, who is selected as FIFA referees/assistant referees.
