Iran Blasts PGCC Statement

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast slammed a recent statement issued by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) against Tehran, and cautioned that the negative propaganda campaign launched by the council against Iran would undermine regional ties, security and stability.
Mehman-Parast made the remarks on Monday in response to the PGCC's most recent statement which accused Iran of issuing provocative statements about PGCC member states.
"Unfortunately, certain (countries), under the influence of the hegemonic powers' media outlines and without taking the regional nations' interests into consideration, are creating a commotion about the Islamic Republic of Iran and causing misunderstanding among regional nations, a move which will negatively affect regional relations and undermine stability and security," Mehman-Parast said.
"The regional policies of the Iran have always been based on the principles of good neighborly relations, mutual respect, and non-intervention in the internal affairs of the other countries," Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast said in a statement on Monday.
"Iran has proved its commitment to these principles in practice," Mehman-Parast continued.
Elsewhere in remarks, he dismissed the expression of concern over Iran's nuclear program as unfounded, and said that Iran's nuclear activities are completely transparent and in compliance with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) rules and regulations.
