Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Dr. Fehmida Mirza lauds UAE’s humanitarian role
Abu Dhabi, September 14, 2011 (PPI): Visiting Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza hailed humanitarian efforts of UAE and its continuing support and assistance to Pakistan in times of natural disasters, WAM news agency reported on Wednesday.
In meeting with UAE Foreign Trade Minister Shaikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Dr. Fehmida recalled UAE’s participation in several development projects in Pakistan. This stance of UAE asserts depth of relations between UAE and Pakistan, she added. They discussed means to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields especially trade and investment.
Shaikha Lubna stressed importance of corporate social responsibility UAE firms in Pakistan as well as Pakistani companies in UAE bear, and noted their contribution supplements the government level assistance in times of natural calamities.
Later Dr. Fehmida was received by Chairman Board of Directors UAE Red Crescent Authority RCA Ahmed Humaid Al Mazroui at its headquarters. She thanked UAE President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for standing beside Pakistan in times of trial, especially during natural disasters that struck several parts of the country.
