Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Office Bearers elected unopposed
Islamabad, September 15, 2011 (PPI): Annual elections for the office bearers of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry were held at Chamber House. Mr.Nasir Khan, Ch. Abdul Ghaffar and Ch.Mazhar Hussain performed their duties as members of Election Commission.
Mr. Yassar Sakhi Butt has been elected as President, while Mr. Asad Farid and Mr. Shahid Zaman Shinwari have been elected as Vice Presidents of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) for the year 2011-12. All three candidates representing Founder Group, have been elected unopposed.
The final results shall be announced on September 29, 2011 in the Annual General Meeting of ICCI while the elected Office Bearers would take charge from 1st October 2011.
Mr.Munawar Mughal, Chairman Founder Group said that unopposed success shows great reliance of the business community on the Group. He hoped that newly elected team would take further initiatives to provide greater facilitation to members and take Chamber to new heights.
Speaking on the occasion, Yassar Sakhi Butt, newly elected President thanked members for posing great confidence on him and assured that he would leave no stone unturned to come up with members expectation and safe-guard their interests. He said that he was also elected as Vice President of ICCI in 1994 while his father Mr. Sakhi Butt (late) was amongst the founder members of the Islamabad Chamber.
Congratulating the newly elected team and Executive Members, Mahfooz Elahi, President, ICCI hoped that good traditions set by the predecessors shall be maintained to promote the interests of business community by doing policy advocacy and asked the Government to ensure business friendly environment.
At the occasion, Mr. Faisal Sakhi Butt, Advisor to PM on CDA, and Administrator of Gun and Country Club congratulating the newly elected office bearers and Executive members, said that with the continuous struggle of the Founder Group, Chamber has grown as a strong institution of the business community. He further said that by using his influence, he would also extend his full cooperation in resolving the key demands and issues of the Chambers members.
Messrs Syed Adil Anis, Khalid Javed, Zubair Malik, Tariq Sadiq, Mian Akram Farid, Inayat Ullah Mirza, Abdul Rauf, Ejaz Abbasi, Raza Khan, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Khaid Chaudary, Ajmal Baloch, Mohsin Khalid, Shaban Khalid, Khaid Mian, Ishfaq Chatta, Naveed Malik, Malik Rab Nawaz, Zareef Ahmad Khan, Nisar Ahmad Mirza, Ch. Mukhtar, Abdul Rehman Khan and other members congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Islamabad Chamber.
