Police had information of any terror attack in Karachi

Karachi, September 19, 2011 (PPI): Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Wajid Ali Durani said the police had intelligence reports of some terror acts but had no idea of attack at the residence of SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam.

“The police was on high alert after intelligence reports and could be that finding strict security in the city, the terrorists targeted the residence of Chaudhry Aslam,” he said while talking to media during his visit to the place of bomb blast on Monday. “We didn’t expect attack on residence of Chaudhry Aslam.

Additional IG Police Saud Mirza and other officials also confirmed to the media that the police had information of terror attack in the city. Saud Mirza said investigation was underway and the police were collecting evidences including the footage and only after that it could be confirmed if the double cabin vehicle was used in attack or any other vehicle. He however said 300 plus kilogram explosive was used in attack.
